Ryan Koons
grew up listening to and eventually joining his parent’s' Celtic
ensemble Wherligig. He started playing tin whistle at age nine and
started performing with his parents a year later. He now performs on
many instruments especially show-casing his nyckelharpa and fiddle in performance with
his father, Ken. He also has a powerful singing voice and is studying to be an ethnomusicologist.

Ken Koons
has been performing Celtic music for over 20 years. He provides
the accompaniment for his son’s fiddle, whistles, and nyckelharpa, and
joins him with whistles and hurdy gurdy.
Ken also makes and restores musical instruments and has produced and recorded four CDs for his family’s band Wherligig. |
